First of all Colorado is amazing! We went to Denver and got to enjoy the Taste of Colorado which is a festival with music, art, food, food, and more food. At this point we were ready to splurge because we had just been eating tuna and pb & j sandwiches, even though we love them! We got to hammock in different parts of the festival until someone saw us having too much fun and not spending enough money and ruined our relaxing time! Sometimes we hate rules... Anyway that night we went to an outside mall in the city and decided to play live music, give free hugs, and just take in the city as much as we could. This ended up being the best decision we could ever make because we met so many like minded beautiful individuals and could not have planned a better night! It was so amazing to connect with complete strangers and show them unconditional love. Music truly brought us all together on this night and I am soooo thankful for the creativity that human beings naturally have because it is a great gift! "Play and they shall come!" We ended up earning a couple bucks, a bunch of gum, some oil, and a granola bar for our music playing. The cool thing is that there were other people coming to our circle and playing music for almost 4 hours! Thank God for this experience : )
We were able to stay at a friends house for the night and enjoyed great breakfast and conversation before we left to head out to Grand Junction, Colorado. On the way we stopped in the lovely town of Breckenridge to see if it had potential for our future home. We just drove through for a couple of minutes but those few minutes convinced us that we need to move there for sure! It was a very peaceful drive through the mountains, as we got to see all of the landscape that this state has to offer. The mountains are so diverse in color and shape and it is amazingly sunny all the time!
After a long scenic drive, we stopped in Grand Jct for a couple of hours but eventually we decided to keep driving through the night! We drove all the way until the sun came up through Utah and by the time day had hit we were in Nevada. We stopped and slept for maybe an hour and then continued to drive. So far everything was going great! Unfortunately we recieved news that a high school friend of ours had died from drugs. This is always hard to swallow because you always wonder why. Rest In Peace Adam Hess... Next we got pulled over for speeding and got a ticket (boo). Luckily the cop lowered it for us, but still, blah! So we are driving along only about 7 or 8 hours from our destination (Fort Braggs, Cali) and we heard the car making a strange noise. so we pulled over only to realize we were out of oil. Triple A to the rescue! They towed us and took us to Walmart to get an oil change that they wouldnt even do! We had to do it ourselves which was fine, but not many were helpful. After we replaced the oil we were finally ready to get on the road again! Of course as soon as we hit the highway the noise started back up again. This time we were able to drive it to a shop, where they treated the oil because we had put too much in, and sent us on our way. Back on the highway once again, we were just at the border of Nevada and California when our car decided, again, to make a horrible noise. This time we new it was serious so we called Triple A to tow us 100 miles into Cali. So here we are now, our car is barely fixable, in Rocklin, CA. Tomorrow we will get the car towed to our final destination in Ft. Braggs, 200 miles from here. What a crazy day! Although we were constantly being challenged, we are still thankful for our experiences and in good spirits. We made it to Cali, afterall! We love ya : )
